What is NovellaForge?
NovellaForge Creator Studio is a desktop app for making visual novels without writing code. You can write the story yourself, let AI draft it, or import a Ren’Py game, then publish it for Windows, Mac, Linux and the web.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Everything — branching, choices, conditions and remembered variables — is done in the editor. If you already have a Ren’Py game, the importer converts it for you.
How does the 7-day trial work?
Enter your email on the website and you get the full Creator Studio for seven days. No card is needed and nothing renews automatically. Then approve your computer from the app and start creating. Each email address gets one trial.
What does it cost?
A one-time £19.99 licence with one year of updates included. You keep using the version you have, forever. If you want newer releases after the first year, update support is £9.99 per extra year.
How many computers can I use?
A licence can be activated on up to two devices. You can review and release devices from your account if you replace a computer.
What happens when my update year ends?
Nothing stops working. The version you installed keeps running. You simply cannot download newer releases until you extend update support.
Do I need an AI subscription?
The AI features need an AI provider of your choice — a cloud account such as OpenRouter, or a model running on your own computer. Those costs are separate from the NovellaForge licence. Writing the story by hand needs no AI at all.
Can people play my game without buying anything?
Yes. Games you publish are standalone: a web page or a desktop app that anyone can open. Your players never need NovellaForge or a licence.
Where are my stories stored?
On your computer, in a normal folder you can back up. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose an online AI provider to generate content.
Is it safe to buy?
Payment is handled by Stripe. Card details never touch NovellaForge. Your licence is issued only after Stripe confirms the payment.
